MissionDelta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.
Sorority HistoryOn January 13, 1913, twenty-two college students at Howard University changed the world by founding Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to those in need. Setting a foundation of standing for social justice, the first public act of the sorority was participation in the Women's Suffrage March in Washington, D.C. in March of 1913.
